What I would ask of this community is that you do what you do best: over-analyze the hell out of it. To that end, I've put together a "unit roster" of ships for the Republic Navy as I imagine it in this scenario-comprised of ships this sub suggested that fit the criteria I posed in my previous post.
I'm trying to use my own creativity to interpret the ideas presented by the EU authors over twenty years ago. The Clone Wars George Lucas ended up creating is very different from the world Expanded Universe authors imagined: a world where Jedi marry and have families, where the Republic has a military, and where the clones are the minions of evil "Clone Masters" bent on conquering the galaxy. The fiction will revolve around the concept of the Clone Wars as interpreted by Expanded Universe authors, years before the Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith gave us George Lucas's interpretation. While I already mentioned it in a comment, I'll reveal my purpose now: I am planning out a fan fiction with a very specific goal.
